My Name Is Khan completes 9 years, Karan Johar thanks Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan while Varun Dhawan reminisces his AD days

Karan Johar is celebrating nine years of his directorial My Name Is Khan starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. The filmmaker took to his social media to thank the lead actors for the film. Karan had received Filmfare Award for Best Director in 2010 for My Name Is Khan.

Thanking everyone, Karan Johar wrote, “9 years of My Name Is Khan, I feel so blessed to have been able to tell this story… Thank you for creating it Shibani and thank you Shah Rukh for living the role of Rizwan so beautifully and brilliantly. Thank you Kajol for your eyes…your silences and more.”

It wasn’t just Karan Johar who shared memories from the anniversary of the film. Varun Dhawan, who was one of the assistant directors in the film, shared a throwback photo from those days. In the picture, Varun is seen with Student Of The Year co-star Sidharth Malhotra, Kalank director Abhishek Varman and Karan Johar along with other crew members. He captioned the photo, “#9YearsOfMNIK a film I learnt soo much on. It practically changed my life. Also this is the only picture I have where @abhivarman is smiling. Thank u @karanjohar.”

Karan Johar responded to Varun’s tweet and reminisced the memories. “So many brilliant memories I have !Specially of you signing autographs when you were an AD (not a star) and of Sid’s stoic silences in the face of adversity! And of course of Abhishek Varman smiling!! A rare sight!,” he wrote.

Since then Varun Dhawan has become a bankable star, Abhishek Varman has directed several movies for Karan Johar including 2 States and Kalank and Sidharth Malhotra has starred in several Dharma Productions films.
